My Stuff Interview: with Maya Oren of Safta
Maya was the guest on episode 14 of my podcast Never Over the Hil
and I hosted her first trunk show at Royal Native in March. She is back by popular demand on 5/17, bringing her energy and intention infused bead, talisman and crystal necklaces to Locust Valley.

What most inspires you? Exploring new places
Necessary Extravagance: ceremonial cacao
Fave place in the world: Tel Aviv
Fave films: I love a good chick flick and nostalgic throwbacks. I love The Parent Trap (lindsay lohan version) and She's The Man.
Favorite colors: I love ALL color. Purple is always at the top of my list, but chartreuse, and lately a dark tangerine have been standing out to me.
Fashion idols: I get inspired by everyone around me in the city and online. I don't have one person I look up to, I love picking up nuggets here and there!
underwear: GAP or any basic cotton undies, I don't wear bras, but when I do they're bralettes. I have lots of beautiful ones from my travels but my go-tos on the day-to-day are two free people ones I got years ago.
T-shirt: Everlane or Buck Mason. Both are awesome. I tend to love a heavier weight tee as well, and I've found some good ones at Urban Outfitters of all places.
Jeans: Buck Mason men's japanese denim, tailored to fit me :).
Day Bag: If I'm being honest, a tote or my crossbody Kavu
Fave Accessory: My hand-made Safta beaded necklaces (obviously) and my gold chains with evil eye charms from my safta and parents.
Favorite Shop: Hmm, I LOVE Frankie Shop, but I also really love Mr. Larkin. Really, any boutique that has a sense of identity I enjoy perusing and shopping at!
Shoes: Day-to-day I'm usually in Sabahs, groundies, or Altra running sneakers. If I'm going out, my cowboy boots from Nashville or chunky loafers from Maguire.

Favorite art: Photography
Sheets: Quince Euro linen!
Luggage: Not precious about it. I swear by my Lucas carry on that I bought at Marshalls years ago. It fits an insane amount in it.
Fave flowers: Gosh, all of them?! But if I had to choose my top faves, it would be between Lilacs, Jasmine, English Roses, and Cosmos.
Fave Neighborhood Spots: I just moved here so I feel like I don't have a perfect read on this yet, but right now, I love going to Yardsale (for babka) and Breadivore.
Favorite drink: Georgian Skin Contact Wine. specifically saperavi or Kisi grapes
Snack: Bamba.
Top 3 TV shows: Friends, Younger, Sex Lives of College Girls
Music to lounge to: Maribou State, James Blake, Jordan Rakei
Fave spot in my home: the couch with my bead kits
Lipstick: Soshe!!! so creamy and beautiful. I'm also into Finding Ferdinand lately
Mascara: I don't wear it, only like 2 times a year. but when I do I put on a tube from Ilia that is pretty fabulous.
Shampoo: I'm not using any specific thing right now, just what I come across. But always natural!!
Perfume: Eidisis from Aesop.
Toothpaste: Toms or Marvis
Soap: Dr. Bronners
Nail polish color: I love a good fairy iridescent, classic red, or bright color.
Can't live without: castor oil
Workout: currently walking + dancing. I'm easing into movement after a long time of being frozen.
Facial/treatment: I love going to the sauna often and I also like to do quarterly facials. I'm loving Sofie Pavitt's studio now that I'm in the city!
